The tradition in table

Inspiration taken from truly wonderful traditional local recipes is to be found in “La Castagna”’s kitchen. Great attention is given to the preparation of the dishes, using fresh, locally grown seasonal products, from local producers, with special attention to meats, cheeses and salamis typical of the region. The meals are always prepared fresh from the moment of ordering, presented both appetisingly and of generous portion and accompanied with an excellent selection of the best Campania and International wines. In winter, the hors d’oeuvres, the home-made pasta, the delicious soups, the barbecued meats, the numerous mouth-watering dishes cooked with local porcini mushrooms, and all the chestnut based specialities (gnocchi made with chestnut flour, veal roulade stuffed with chestnuts, traditionally made desserts and ice-cream), can be enjoyed in the comfortable and welcoming dining room, warmed by an inviting fire and lit by a framework of windows that look out onto the beautiful garden terrace and walkways that surround the hotel. In the summer, however, it’s possible to dine on tables laid out on the ample shaded terraces and appreciate the splendid views of our thriving chestnut wood, in which the hotel is completely immersed. The conscientious way the Basile family run “La Castagna”, scrupulously maintaining ties to the gastronomic local flavours, plus giving both an enjoyable and yet discreet service to their guests equals a pleasurable, memorable and refreshing holiday and break, and this is not only for their regular customers but also for those just passing by and calling in. The restaurant has the capacity to accommodate up to 120 guests, offering the possibility to organise private parties, ceremonies and banquets, with personalised menus including fresh fish as an option on these menus.
